Utilize photographic camera features on your Chromebook

You can utilise the camera on your Chromebook to take photos or videos, edit and print photos, and scan documents.

Take a photo or video or scan a document with your Chromebook

Change how photos or videos are captured

  • Change your settings: Select Settings . Alter the size of the grid, the length of the timer, or the camera resolution.
  • Flip your photo from left to right: Select Mirroring.
  • Employ gridlines to straighten photos: Select Grid.
  • Switch between cameras: At the left, select Switch camera .
    • Tip: You tin can simply switch cameras if y'all plug in an external camera or your Chromebook has two built-in cameras.
  • Take photos with a timer: Select Timer .
  • Take photos with the volume buttons: When your Chromebook is in tablet way, y'all can press the upward or downwardly volume button to have a photo. Larn more virtually tablet style.

Utilise the camera with Google Assistant

You can enquire your Google Assistant to help you accept photos, videos, and scan documents. First, set Google Banana on your Chromebook. So, say "Ok Google" or "Hey Google," and use the commands below.

Open up the camera: "Launch my camera."
Take a picture: "Take my film."
Take a portrait: "Take a portrait photograph."
Tape video: "Have a video."

Observe or save your photos or videos

Edit, delete, or print your photos

  1.  Select the photo yous want to edit.
    • Tip: In the Camera app ,  on the bottom right, you lot can select your most recent photograph or video.
  2. Cull an option:

Tip: To do more than avant-garde photograph editing, y'all tin can use an app like Google Photos, Pixlr Editor, or Sumo Paint.

Browse a document

Important: For best results:

  • If available, use your external or back photographic camera to scan.
  • Use a background that's a different color than your document.
  • Marshal all edges of the document within the frame.
  • Scan in a well lit space.
  1. Open up Camera .
  2. At the bottom, select Scan and then Document.
  3. Place the document to be scanned within the finder.
  4. Once detected, select Scan .
  5. To save your document, select Save as photo or Save as PDF.
    • Select Retake to recapture.

Tip: You can also scan documents with your printer.

Scan a QR Code

  1. Open Camera .
  2. At the bottom, select Scan and then QR code.
  3. Eye your QR Code in the QR Code finder window on your screen.
  4. At the top of the QR Lawmaking finder, select the link to open a new Chrome tab.
    • To re-create the link to your clipboard, select the copy button.
